Healthgoods supports your right to privacy through the following privacy policies. We want you to feel confident that your personal information is always protected and kept confidential and only used to the extent necessary to process your orders and communicate with you.

 
The Information We Collect

At various locations on our website, you can order products, subscribe to our newsletter, send feedback and contact us via email.  The types of personal information collected at these pages may include your name, billing and shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card information and personal preferences.  We only obtain individual information that is voluntarily supplied by visitors to Healthgoods.com.  Subscriptions to our newsletter can be cancelled at any time by writing to: unsubscribe@healthgoods.com.

 

When placing an order, you may provide information about another individual such as when sending a gift.  In this instance we would need to know the name, address and possibly the phone number of the recipient to assure an accurate and satisfactory delivery.

 
How We Use Your Information

Your information, and the order recipient's information, is used to process the order, send order notifications, confirm delivery, provide customer support, supply services, and communicate effectively. Healthgoods never sells or rents your personal contact information to any outside source.  We will never call you regarding promotions and we do not provide your telephone number to any outside source.  We will only share information with outside parties to the extent required to process your order.

 

We may use your mail or email address to occasionally contact you about important changes at Healthgoods.com such as the addition of new products, services, health information and special offers.  We feel this information will be of value to our site visitors concerned about personal and environmental health issues and products.  You may request to be removed from such notifications at any time by contacting us with your request.

Security

Healthgoods implements a three step security program to ensure your confidential information is processed and stored under the highest security available.

  1. Customer credit card information is encoded before it is stored in our database.

  2. Credit card information is automatically deleted after 60 days from placing your order.

  3. We use the industry standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology with the highest encryption available when you place your order online.

Credit Card Information Encoding

Customer credit card information obtained during the order process is encrypted before it is stored on our secure server. This will ensure that if someone should manage to bypass our numerous security measures, confidential customer credit card information will be useless to the perpetrator. Only Healthgoods can access customer credit card information.

 
Credit Card Deletion Policy

In addition to encoding customer credit card information, Healthgoods also automatically deletes this information 60 days after a customer places an order. We retain a customer's credit card information for this time period to allow for situations with orders, such as returns, that may require this information be retrieved again at a future time. This extra step in security minimizes the amount of sensitive customer information to only the most recent time period.

 
Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)

We utilize the industry standard Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology with the highest available encryption for transmitting and receiving confidential information during all online order processing.  With SSL, the transmission of confidential data from your browser to the server is encrypted for your security.  Encryption is a method of scrambling information to prevent others from intercepting it.  Healthgoods obtained a Digital Certificate from Thawte for SSL. Thawte provides third party independent verification that the Healthgoods domain name (URL) is owned by the authorized and registered legitimate business.  Thawte issues trusted SSL web server certificates that are used to secure and authenticate web sites, thereby ensuring safe electronic commerce across the Internet.

 

When you connect to a secure web server, you ask that server to authenticate itself.  This authentication is quite a complex process involving public keys, private keys and a digital certificate.  The certificate tells you that an independent third party has agreed that the server belongs to the company it claims to belong to.  The site authentication process enables your browser to confirm our identity before your confidential information is sent.  A valid certificate means that you can have confidence that you are sending information to the right  place.

 
The presence of our Security measures are identified on your browser in several ways:
 
  • The URL for the page you are on will begin with the letters "https://" instead of the usual "http://".

  • You may see some type of security symbol that indicates you are operating in a mode that supports our security measures.  If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer, you may see a "closed lock" in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.  If you are using Netscape Navigator, you may see an "unbroken key" in the lower left-hand corner of the screen.

All modern browsers should work well with our Thawte certificate. If you are having a problem with a secure connection, please view our list of compatible browsers to indicate your need for a quick fix to your browser. Thawte Compatible Browsers.

 

Healthgoods never obtains your confidential information via an unsecured connection.  After you place your order through our secure server we retain your confidential information in a secure directory on our secure server and we obtain that information via a secure link to that directory.

Satisfaction Guarantee

Healthgoods wants you to be completely satisfied with your purchase and that is why we offer this simple "no-problem" Total Satisfaction Guarantee.

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase for any reason, you may return the item(s) for a refund or exchange within thirty (30) days from the date you received the product.

Placing an Order

You have a variety of choices for ordering from Healthgoods.  When ordering online, you will receive an order confirmation via your email address when you submit your order.  If you do not want to order online, you may order by phone, mail, or fax.  We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, Checks and Money Orders.  When paying by check, please allow ten business days for funds to clear prior to shipping your order.

Submitting your order is a two stage process.  First, you place items into your shopping cart as you browse the Shopping Center.  After selecting all the items for your order, you will submit your order to our Secure Order Processing Area where you will then input your confidential information and your order will be processed securely as indicated previously in Security.  When you submit your final order to Healthgoods, an order confirmation is automatically generated and sent to the email address provided in the order form.  The order confirmation will provide you with the details of your order including the items ordered, quantities, and all shipping and product charges.  For detailed instructions on how to submit an order, please go to Ordering Information.  All sales at Healthgoods.com have no sales tax!
Phone Your Order

After you have submitted your order online and you indicated a phone order on the online form, you will need to print out the order confirmation form and call our Customer Service Department toll free at 1-888-878-2497 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, Eastern Standard Time (except major Holidays) to provide your payment information.  Please have credit card and shipping information ready.

 
Fax Your Order

After you have submitted your order online and you indicated a fax order on the online form, you will need to print out and fill in the order confirmation form with your Credit Card payment and shipping information and fax 24 hours a day to: 1-603-622-2498.

 
Mail Your Order

After you have submitted your order online and you indicated a mail order on the online form, you will receive an order confirmation for mail orders. Print out and fill in the order confirmation form with your payment and shipping information. You can pay by check, money order or credit card. Personal and business checks and money orders require 10 business days for funds to clear prior to shipping your order. Send the order confirmation form along with your Credit Card information, check or money order made out to Healthgoods and mail it to:

Payment Options

Visa Mastercard American Express DiscoverYou can pay for your order by credit card, personal or business check or money order. We accept Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover credit cards.

Many banks in the US and Canada do not support the Address Verification System (AVS). Online merchants, such as Healthgoods, use a real time credit card processing service (VeriSign) that performs address verification on credit card purchases to reduce online credit card fraud and ensure the information provided is legitimate. This can be problematic for buyers that provide accurate information only to have their credit card fail due to address verification failure because the issuing bank does not support this process. Unfortunately Healthgoods can not control this issue.

International Orders

We ship in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, and US Virgin Islands. Shipments to Alaska, Hawaii, outside the contiguous United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands will require additional shipping charges. You will be notified of these additional costs, for your approval, prior to processing your order.  All import fees, taxes, and other charges associated with International orders are the responsibility of the customer.

Online Order Status

You can check the status of your shopping cart at any time as you continue to browse the Shopping Center by clicking on the maroon "Shopping Cart" tab at the top of each page. Each time you submit an item for your order, a pop up confirmation window will appear indicating the item you want to purchase and the quantity.  At that time you can close the window and continue browsing the Shopping Center and placing additional items in your shopping cart or you can click on the "Order Checkout" button to begin the process of submitting your order to Healthgoods.

Shipping Information and Charges

All in stock items are shipped within one business day of receipt of your order. Orders placed before 12:01pm Eastern Time are usually shipped the same day. Orders placed after this time will be processed the following business day. Items out of stock are usually shipped in 5-10 business days unless there are delays from the manufacturer or distributor. Should there be an extended delay and we are unable to ship your order within 30 days from the date of purchase, we will provide a full refund for your order. If an order contains both in stock and out of stock items, the entire order will be shipped when all items are in stock and the order is complete.

 

Second Day Air (Premium Shipping) is available for packages of 10 pounds or less. Large and heavy items will carry additional charges for Premium Shipping and these charges will be quoted upon request. If additional charges are required for Premium Shipping, you will be notified of these charges for your approval, prior to processing your order.

Shipping charges listed below are for standard ground delivery within the contiguous United States. Additional charges will apply for orders to Alaska, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Canada, the Virgin Islands and other locations. Customers with orders to locations outside of the 48 contiguous United States will be notified of additional shipping charges prior to processing the order. Our usual cut-off time for processing and shipping orders the same day is 12:00pm, however if time allows, orders after this time may be processed the same day. If you require special shipping instructions or timeframes, please note them in the "Special Instructions" area of the check out form.

Shipping Materials

We ship our products utilizing sealed air bags as our packaging material to protect your order based on our experience and analysis of packaging options. Our evaluation considered both customer and environmental issues. While no packaging material is totally environmentally benign, we feel we have chosen the best option available today. In the rare instances where air bag technology is not the best method, we may use a small amount of bio-degradable peanuts, recycled paper or left over polystyrene peanuts sent to us from inventory deliveries.

 

Packaging peanuts create a mess when opening packages and is a problem for disposal to the customer. Bio-degradable peanuts do not perform well to protect packages as they compress and settle easily. Crumpled recycled paper material will also compress and settle in a box during shipment. Packaging peanuts require substantial storage space and are inefficient to transport due to their volume.

 

Sealed air bags as packaging material is a more environmentally sound method to ship products and has many customer benefits. The material for the air bags are shipped to us in large rolls. A machine in our warehouse inflates the material and seals it to create air bags of various sizes and firmness.

 
  • Air bags weigh less than other packaging materials and reduces the transportation fuel required to ship the order.
  • Air bags do not settle in the shipping carton while in transit like other packaging materials and minimizes the potential for product damage during transit. This prevents further customer and environmental impacts of sending damaged product back for replacement, disposing/repairing the damaged product and inconvenience to the customer.
  • Air bags create less waste. They can be deflated and flattened.
  • Air bags are made of recyclable material and can be a part of your recycling program

Returns

Returns will be accepted within thirty (30) days of receiving your order. All customers wishing to return merchandise to Healthgoods must first call our Customer Service department for a Return Authorization Number. This number must be written on the outside of the package. Refund or exchange credit does not include shipping charges. Customers are responsible for shipping charges on returned merchandise and for shipping new, exchanged products. Customers are responsible for shipping damage on returned merchandise. Shipping insurance is suggested.

 

If original merchandise was damaged in shipping, please call us at 1-888-878-2497 immediately and we will notify the shipping company. Save the merchandise and packaging for inspection.  If you need to return the merchandise to Healthgoods for a refund or exchange, enclose a copy of your invoice that was sent with your order along with the original packaging and the product and send it to:

Credits and Refunds

We will issue a credit or refund within five (5) business days from receipt of your returned merchandise.  If payment for the returned products were made by a credit card, then the credit will be applied back to the same credit card.  If the product was purchased with a check or money order, then we will issue a refund check to you.

Cookies

Our shopping system uses a "session ID" to manage each shopper's order.  The session ID is a "non-persistent" cookie, meaning that it is never saved to your computer's hard drive but is only cached in the browsers memory for twenty (20) minutes or until the browser is closed.  The session ID consists only of a short number and is only required to track your order as you shop our online catalog.

 

Our cookie does not provide any information on who you are or your email address.  Accepting our cookie does not give us access to your computer or your personal information.  It is necessary that you accept cookies, if prompted by your web browser, to use our online order processing system.

 
Internet Explorer

If using Internet Explorer as your web browser, Cookie security must be set no higher than "Medium-High" for our shopping cart system to work. Follow these instructions to set your Cookie security.

 
  1. Click on "Tools" in the top menu bar.
  2. Click on "Internet Options"
  3. Click on the "Privacy" tab
  4. Place the cursor over the sliding bar and hold down the left mouse button to move the sliding bar to a level not to exceed "Medium-High".
  5. Click "OK"

You may also set Cookie security for individual web sites by following the following instructions:

  3. Click on the "Privacy" tab
  4. Under Web Sites Click the "Edit" button
