Testing Procedure

STEP ONE: Get Prepared

  • Read Directions. Read all directions carefully including the section "What can I do to make the blood collection easier." A toll free help line is available to assist you if needed.
  • Prepare your cards. Fill in all the required fields of the registration and Personal Identification cards. The MyAllergyTest Laboratory must receive your blood sample and registration card within 10 days of sample collection.
  • Wash and dry hands. Use soap and warm water. Dry thoroughly.
  • Assemble blood collection tube. Insert the funnel in the blood collection tube.

STEP TWO: Get a Blood Sample

  • High fat meals may affect results. For best results collect blood sample before eating or several hours after a meal.

  • Clean puncture site. Use supplied alcohol pad to sanitize fingertip. Allow to dry thoroughly.
  • Use Safety Lancet to pierce skin. Allow 4-5 drops of blood to flow through the funnel and into the collection tube.
  • Apply bandage. Use alcohol pad to wipe fingertip and apply supplied bandage.

STEP THREE: Attach the Bar Code Labels

  • Label 1. Attach to Personal Identification card for your records. Use the supplied PIN number to get your test results from the Internet.
  • Label 2. Attach to the registration card
  • Label 3. Attach to blood collection tube
  • Label 4. Attach to back of prepaid, preaddressed mailing envelope.

STEP FOUR: Mail your Blood Sample

  • Check blood collection tube. Make sure it is fully closed and label 3 is attached properly.
  • Place blood collection tube in bubble-wrap envelope. Seal bubble-wrap envelope around collection tube.
  • Insert Registration card and bubble-wrap envelope in the shipping envelope and seal.
  • Place in US Mailbox or take to the post office. Blood sample must be received within 10 days of collection.

STEP FIVE: Get your Results

  • Email notification. If you provided an email address, you will be notified via email with instructions on obtaining your test results on the Internet when they are ready.
  • U.S. Mail. Results will be mailed to the address on the registration card if no email address is provided.

MyAllergyPlan

Now that you know you have allergies you need a "plan of action" to help you avoid your symptoms and feel better! ImmuneTech is providing just that with a customized "MyAllergyPlan" included as part of your MyAllergyTest results. Your MyAllergyTest results have shown you exactly what you are allergic to, now your MyAllergyPlan can help you learn how to clean up your environment, avoid the offending allergens, and add medications when you and your doctor decide they are needed. The MyAllergyPlan is based on the recommendations of the American College of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology (ACAAI). These guidelines are designed to help you practice allergen avoidance as a first step to feeling better, and use appropriate medications when necessary. ImmuneTech recommends that you share this information with your healthcare provider.
