- The ISS (Ionic Silver Stick) is
a newly developed product which bases its effectiveness
primarily on the germicidal properties of silver. By means of a
special process, a material is produced which reliably kills
germs without significantly increasing the silver concentration
in the treated water. Thanks to its virtually inexhaustible
reservoir, it provides protection for a long period of time. The
protection is provided by the silver ions which enter the water
solution.
How It Works

The antiseptic tissue of the ISS
consists of a silver core and a nanostructured surface. The
partly amorphous, or crystalline, microporous surface guarantees
the unique and permanent effect of the Ionic Silver Stick. |

When contact is made with water,
the silver ions separate quickly and uniformly until the
necessary concentration in the water is reached. The intelligent
surface of the Ionic Silver Stick recognizes the actual
concentration and releases Ag (silver) ions until the specified
concentration is reached. The specified concentration is defined
during manufacture and is based on legal limit values. |

The silver ions released from
the surface are replenished from the depot in the interior. The
surface is therefore always 'new'. The long lasting, safe effect
of the Ionic Silver Stick is achieved by means of this, almost
inexhaustible, reservoir. |

Bacteria, viruses and fungi in
the water are destroyed by the silver ions. This process uses up
silver ions. |

To guarantee a sufficient supply
of silver ions to fight the microorganisms, a constant supply of
ions is provided by the core. The surface is therefore always as

comparison with chemical water additives?

Yes, the ISS has the same effect, but lasts much longer and
does not need to be used every time more water is added. You
simply leave the ISS in the device and forget about it.
- Q. How long is the Ionic Silver Stick
effective?
- A.
This depends on how frequently you use your air humidifier.
We recommend replacing it after one year so that absolutely
germ-free water is evaporated.
- Q. What happens when
calcium deposits form on the Ionic Silver Stick?
- A.
Calcium deposits on the ISS can be removed using commonly
available decalcification products.
- Q. How is the Ionic Silver Stick
different from a normal silver rod?

Untreated silver would "close off" within a very short time
and not release any more silver ions into the water. The ISS,
in contrast, keeps the surface open and steadily and evenly
releases silver ions into the water.
- Q. Can the silver
concentration become too high?

No, the ISS provides controlled release of the silver ions,
an overdose is not possible. This is why it is also not a
problem to use in keeping drinking water pure.

the water. Silver ions are released into the water at a safe
maintained concentration to eliminate over 650 types of bacteria

continuously, whether the humidifier is powered on or not. The
